Every product you see on Made of Hands is handcrafted by an all-women team of artisans from Almora in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand. No factories, no machines — each beanie, muffler, crochet plushie, and keychain is made entirely by hand, one stitch at a time. When you buy from us, you are directly supporting skilled women artisans and their livelihoods.

Every single product is 100% handmade. Because each piece is knitted or crocheted by hand, you may notice very slight variations in colour, size, or texture between pieces — this is not a defect. It is the mark of genuine handcraft. No two Made of Hands products are exactly alike, which is what makes each one special.

We use high-quality acrylic wool yarn for our knitted and crocheted products — including beanies, mufflers, socks, gloves, and accessories. Acrylic wool is soft, warm, lightweight, non-itchy, and easy to care for. Our crochet plushies and amigurumi toys use soft acrylic yarn with polyester fibrefill stuffing. All materials used in our products are child-safe and non-toxic.

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed soft toys — usually animals or characters. The word comes from the Japanese words for "knit" and "stuffed doll." Our handmade amigurumi toys include dinosaurs, cats, frogs, bunnies, penguins, and tortoises — all made by our women artisans in Uttarakhand using child-safe materials. They make wonderful gifts for kids, baby showers, and as desk companions for adults too.
