RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY

At Made of Hands, every product — from our crochet plushies and keychains to our knitted beanies and mufflers — is made entirely by hand, one stitch at a time, by skilled women artisans from the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand.

Because each piece is handcrafted and not machine-produced, you may notice slight variations in stitch density, colour tone, sizing, or texture between individual pieces. A stitch that sits slightly differently, a seam that isn't perfectly symmetrical, a yarn colour that reads slightly warmer or cooler in person than on screen — these are not defects. They are the natural and beautiful marks of genuine handcraft. They are what make your piece yours.

When Can You Return or Exchange?

We have a 24-hour return/exchange window, which means you have 24 hours from the time of delivery to raise a return or exchange request.

We accept returns or exchanges only in the following cases:

  • The product arrived physically damaged (torn, broken, structurally compromised)

  • You received the wrong item — i.e., a different product than what you ordered

We do not accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Slight variations in colour, stitch, size, or texture (these are natural characteristics of handmade products, not defects)

  • Change of mind, gifting gone wrong, or personal preference

  • Products that have been used, washed, or altered in any way

How to Raise a Return Request?

Step 1 — Record an unboxing video. This is mandatory. Please record a clear, uninterrupted video of yourself opening the package as it arrives. The video must show the sealed package and the product inside. Without an unboxing video, we will be unable to process your return or exchange.

Step 2 — Contact us within 24 hours of delivery. Email us at hello@madeofhands.com with:

  • Your order number

  • A brief description of the issue

  • Your unboxing video and photos of the damaged/incorrect item

Step 3 — Wait for confirmation. Once we review your request, we'll get back to you within 2 business days to confirm if the return is approved and share the next steps.

Shipping a Return.

If your return is approved, you will need to self-ship the product back to us. We will reimburse your shipping charges once the return is received and inspected. Please pack the item carefully to avoid further damage in transit. We are not responsible for returns that are lost or damaged during the return shipping process.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we'll notify you of the outcome within 2 business days.

If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 7–10 business days. Please note that your bank or payment provider may take additional time to reflect the amount in your account.

If 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved and you haven't received it, please write to us at hello@madeofhands.com and we'll look into it immediately.
